Data sources
The kinds of systems DUET reads site data from, the platforms connected today, and the read-only access to provide.
DUET reads from most systems that utility-scale sites use to store operational data. Most connect through one of a few standard patterns, so a platform that isn't named on this page usually still fits one of them.
Every connection only reads. None needs write or administrative access.
Industrial protocols
For reading live data from the plant network. These connect through the on-site collector, or over a site-to-site VPN.
| Protocol | Works with | What to provide |
|---|---|---|
| OPC UA | Any OPC UA server, including SCADA platforms such as Ignition. | The endpoint URL, the security policy and mode, and a read-only user or client certificate. Encrypted connections use Basic256Sha256 with SignAndEncrypt. |
| MQTT with Sparkplug B | Any Sparkplug B broker. | The broker address, credentials, and the group IDs to read. |
Historians
| Source | Works with | What to provide |
|---|---|---|
| Historian APIs | Canary, and Prediktor DES. | Read-only access to the historian's API, usually over a site-to-site VPN. |
| SQL-based historians | Ignition tag historian on MySQL or SQL Server. | A read-only database user. Typically used to load history from before the site connected. |
Monitoring platforms
Connected through an Enurgen-managed integration, over HTTPS.
| Platform | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Power Factors UNITY | A read-only API key from your UNITY administrator. |
| Nexalis | A read-only API token, or a Delta Sharing share. |
| GreenPowerMonitor (GPM+) | A read-only user for the GPM+ Horizon API. |
Databases
Any SQL database that DUET can reach over the network, such as MySQL, MariaDB, or SQL Server.
- A read-only user with
SELECTon the relevant tables. No DDL, administrative, or write privileges. - The connection details: host, port, and database name.
- Network access: a site-to-site VPN for an on-premises database, or an allowed address for a cloud database.
Data warehouses and data lakes
| Source | What to provide |
|---|---|
| SQL warehouses, such as Databricks | The warehouse's HTTP path, and a machine-to-machine OAuth credential with SELECT on the relevant schema. |
| Delta Sharing | The share's endpoint and bearer token, from your platform or from your data provider. |
Weather data
You don't need to provide weather data beyond your site's own sensors. DUET draws satellite irradiance from Solargis and SolarAnywhere, and uses it to fill gaps when a site's sensors are missing or unreliable.
Other sources
If your system doesn't fit a pattern on this page, Enurgen can build a connector for it. Send your account manager the system's API documentation or data dictionary, and they'll arrange a scoping call.
You can also send data yourself, from any system, through the ingest API.
